Workers are on strike today and on 2 July, demanding better working conditions, namely, higher wages.

Speaking to Lusa, António Salvado, from SINFA, said that the “participation from the workers is being very positive and with great support”.

“We have a large number of people, but in the suburban area there are more trains. Regional and long-haul trains so far have not been any train. We are going to wait for the entry of workers from 8:00 am and we are going to see how it evolves throughout the day”, he said.

According to CP, at around 7:20 am, of the 68 scheduled trains, 49 have been working. On the other hand, 19 have not operated, of which 17 are from the regional service and two are long-haul.
