Located between the Alentejo and Algarve, the new Cerro
Mouro eco-resort with 24 rooms - including villas, townhouses and apartments –
will be developed.
The Cerro Mouro real estate project will be located in the
village of Barão de São João, in the Southwest of the Algarve, and presents a
“constructive concept totally oriented towards environmental sustainability,
enhanced by its unique location - on the border of the Sudoeste Alentejano
Natural Park and Costa Vicentina”, reads a statement.
By the end of 2024, it is estimated that the construction of
the 24 luxury eco homes on Cerro Mouro will be completed. In all, there are
nine independent houses, nine two-storey townhouses and six apartments, to
which six more semi-commercial spaces and studios are added.
The building of the development is divided into four zones,
each one designed to integrate the different types of housing. Among the common
spaces there will be a natural amusement park for children, a large lake,
community gardens, forest and orchards.
“This venture arose from a passion, mine and my family's,
for this place: a space away from everything, where the countryside meets the
sea and the four seasons of the year are experienced intensely. Where you can
relax, be active, creative, work alone, cooperate or just spend your days by
the ocean and celebrate. A place where children can play, where they can run
freely, safely, and together relearn the rhythms of nature”, said Dave Hemminga,
founder of CO Cerro Mouro.
images of large areas of green grass - how is that with the shortage of water eco friendly?

Personally I would say that Barao de Sao Joao still quite some kilometers away from de Alentejo with de municipalities of Aljezur and Monchique in between

John I'm certain you're mistaken lol. That must be "Astro Turf" you know, the plastic grass they use on the ships for golf and lawns, no cutting, no watering!
Algarve politicians wouldn't allow real grass to be planted as anyone who can read TPN knows and sees there is a "serious" drought from climate disruption only getting worse each year (although they did just open a "waterpark" 3 weeks ago! As well they are beginning "water restrictions" not using at night, then will come certain hours only of the day, then just certain hours of certain days. DESALINISATION turning salt water to tap water is the future and if Portugal doesn't spend their tax $ on that, eventually only certain people will have access to water if you know what I mean. Open your eyes people, we're not waiting for "global warming," it's here NOW! Who's responsible for water distribution? Elect only those with a "plan" not cutbacks that will shrink and Portugal won't be the happy place that people want to spend their tourist dollars at.

If Wes is right and he probably is, it is Astroturf and this is very worrying. I see far too much of this harmful plastic product being used here already. It is clearly damaging to the environment and contributes to the production and use of plastic, which in turn will add to the plastic pollution and contamination of the environment with microplastics. btw, you can now test positive for plastic in the bloodstream! Fake plastic lawns are increasing the demand for plastic instead of reducing it.

Will the park and lake area etc only be for use by the people living in these properties or can anyone use it?
