In 2011, this percentage stood at 13.9%, which means that, in a decade, the percentage of residents in the capital with foreign nationality increased by 2.7%.

In comparison, only 7.1% of residents in the Porto Metropolitan Area were born outside Portugal, and even there, there was an increase of 2.3% compared to 2011, the year in which this percentage did not exceed 4.8%.
