The complaint from the carrier led by Michael O’Leary was delivered this Thursday, according to information provided by Jornal de Negócios, and follows several requests for intervention from the community executive.
“We have been asking the Commission to investigate the misuse by easyJet of the Lisbon slots, following the granting of state aid to TAP worth 3.2 billion euros”, indicates an official source from Ryanair.
The Portuguese airline was forced to give up 18 take-off and landing slots at Humberto Delgado airport, with easyJet winning the competition, in which Ryanair also participated. The company announced, in July 2022, the launch of 13 new routes from Lisbon and the reinforcement of eight destinations.
“The Commission has done nothing about this issue, despite letters sent months ago, which is why we have presented a formal complaint to the Commission today,” according to Ryanair.
“The Commission must adequately control the corrective measures it approves to ensure that they are pro-competition, which is not happening in this case. We hope to see a proper investigation by the Commission in the coming weeks”, asks Ryanair.
You decided to cut flights because of fee raised at the Airport !!! now you complain that you lost slots ??? Disbelief ...

O'Leary and Ryanair are a cancer in European cities, the problem is those who yell the loudest get the attention.
