The construction, which allowed for the implementation of the system has been finalised.

In future, the following areas will become vehicle restricted zones in Loulé: Rua D. Paio P. Correia, Rua das Bicas, Rua 9 de Abril, Calçada Horta del Rei, Rua Dr. Joaquim Nunes Saraiva, Travessa do Mercado, Travessa Nossa Senhora do Pilar and Praça da República.

The vehicle restricted zones in Quarteira will be: Rua Portas do Mar, Rua da Mata, Rua da Praia, Travessa do Leste, Rua dos Peões, Rua Vasco da Gama and Rua Manuel Pontes da Horta.

With this initiative, the Municipality of Loulé wants to ensure the improvement of quality of life of the resident population and tourists who visit these locations. The goal is to turn the arteries into pleasant pedestrian zones, allowing all visitors to enjoy the urban space with better conditions, comfort, freedom and safety.

The system will come into force following the discussion and approval of the regulation which will determine the rules, days and times of access to the aforementioned areas.
