The simulation included the sinking of a vessel, with three crew members on board, which resulted in a request for assistance in rescuing a cliff near Montes Clérigos beach, to help train the firefighters in this sort of complex rescue.

“This scenario allowed these specialised teams to train in real scenarios and, in this way, put into practice the different techniques that rescues require”, explains one of the firefighters.

“Increasingly, firefighters are subjected to highly complex situations and incidents, and it is these types of exercises that allow them to test their preparation, both on a technical, physical, and psychological level”, stressing that in the Algarve area, namely in the Barlavento Algarvio and Costa Vicentina, there are several trails where many people pass every day.
