From today until Monday, temperatures will gradually rise, potentially reaching 36ºC in some regions.
For today, the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) predicts "partly cloudy or clear skies" and "sometimes strong winds on the western coastline and in the highlands". In addition, the rise in maximum temperatures will be felt mainly "on the west coast".
As for temperatures, Lisbon, Faro, Coimbra and Castelo Branco could reach 30ºC. The maximum expected in Setúbal and Évora is 34ºC and, further north, Porto, Aveiro, Viseu and Vila Real will reach 26ºC. The minimum temperatures will vary between 10ºC (in the case of Bragança) and 21ºC (in the case of Faro).
In general, in most districts on the mainland, the maximum temperatures are expected to rise between 1 and 2 degrees on Saturday and, on Sunday, the thermometers could reach 36ºC.
This is the maximum expected on Sunday for Santarém, the hottest district, while Lisbon and Beja will reach 34ºC. Braga could reach 32ºC and Faro will stay at 29ºC.
For Monday, the IPMA also predicts "partly cloudy or clear skies" and a "small rise in temperature on the North and Central coast".
