According to information provided by the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA), in the early hours of today, February 27, at 02:29 (local time) an earthquake measuring 4.2 on the Richter scale was recorded at the stations of the Continent Seismic Network.

The epicentre of this earthquake was located approximately 65 km north-northeast of Seville (Spain) and was also felt in the Alentejo region of Monsaraz.
According to the information available from IPMA, this earthquake did not cause personal or material damage and was felt with maximum intensity II (modified Mercalli scale) in the municipality of Reguengos de Monsaraz, district of Évora.
