According to the PGDL, the arrests of the passengers took place when it was found that the defendants, upon arrival at Lisbon airport on flights from South America, were carrying cocaine concealed in their bags.

"Following the interrogations and in line with what was promoted by the Public Prosecutor's Office, it was judicially decided to apply the coercive measure of preventive detention to the two detainees", says the PGDL.

The investigations continue under the direction of the Department of Investigation and Criminal Action (DIAP) of Lisbon, with the support of the Judiciary Police.
