According to the DGS, the number of people hospitalised with the disease increased in the last 24 hours: there are now 948 (37 more than on Sunday) and 135 of them are in intensive care units (one more).
Most of the new cases were diagnosed in the North region (683), followed by the Lisbon and Vale do Tejo region (662), the Center (480), the Algarve (218) and the Alentejo (50).
Of the 14 deaths, five occurred in the Algarve region, four in Lisbon and Vale do Tejo, three in the North region and two in the Center region.
In Portugal, since March 2020, 18,551 people have died and 1,169,003 cases of infection have been recorded, according to data from the General Directorate of Health.
