The order, signed on October 28, renews the authorisation to
use the system composed of 11 cameras, for a period of three years.
The renovation was requested by the general commander of the
National Republican Guard, and the system responsible for its management is the
GNR Territorial Detachment of Tomar, operating 24 hours a day, every day of the
week.
According to the order, “whenever there is a situation of
concrete danger for the safety of people and property, sound capture and
recording is allowed” and “the cameras must be directed so as not to capture
and not record images in the places more reserved for prayer, such as the
interior of churches, chapels and places of devotion”.
“Private areas must be barred, preventing the visualization
of, in particular, doors, windows and balconies”, while the use of hidden
cameras is not allowed.
All operations must be registered and “registration reports
must report all anomalies detected and must be archived for a minimum period of
two years”.
