According to Infarmed – Autoridade Nacional do Medicamentos
e Produtos de Saúde, the organization “in the scope of a market inspection
action, verified the existence in the national market of cosmetic products
distributed by the company L'Oréal Portugal, Unipersonal Ltd. which contained
in their composition the ingredient Butylphenyl methylpropional”.
“Although L’Oréal Portugal, Unipessoal, Lda. informed INFARMED, I.P. of the measures for
the recall and withdrawal from the national market of cosmetic products that
contained the ingredient Butylphenyl methylpropional in their composition, from
the analysis of the information made available to date, it appears that the
said company has not been able to demonstrate the recall in the entire national
market of non-compliant cosmetic products”, advances the circular.
Infarmed also asks traders who still have products with this
ingredient to contact the brand and underlines that “consumers who still have
these products should not use them”.
