Before you travel
It is always a good idea to buy your anniversary gift in advance, to take with you so that you do not have to worry about searching for something on your time away. Choose a gift symbolic of your love, like a 24k gold rose. This is a gift that will last a lifetime and as a piece of beautiful home décor will be a daily reminder of the love between you and the wonderful holiday you have had.
Other ways to prepare for your anniversary celebration in Portugal is to contact your hotel in advance and ask if they can put flowers in your room and a bottle of champagne in the fridge as a surprise for your spouse. You could contact the airline and ask for an announcement to be made on your flight if it is a milestone anniversary celebrating 25 years (silver), 50 years (gold) or 60 years (diamond).
