"Vila Nova de Paiva is a central municipality, very close to municipalities such as Viseu, Castro Daire, Sernancelhe and Moimenta da Beira, which do not have much offer of this type in the summer," said Ricardo Rodrigues, technical manager of the Ottieland inflatable water park.

According to Ricardo Rodrigues, the fact that all these municipalities have a very high rate of emigration was determinant for the choice of the place.

"We know that on weekdays we will have many people who are on holiday," he stressed.

The park, which represented an investment of nearly one hundred thousand Euros by the company Anoki Eventos (from Viseu), will be installed in Vila Nova de Paiva until 29 August.

"It is the first event of its kind that we propose to organise and we wanted to start with a smaller dimension, so that afterwards we can grow", said the responsible, who in the next years would like to replicate this concept in other municipalities.

The total area of the aquatic enclosure, which has a capacity for 450 people, is around ten thousand square metres. In it there is "varied equipment, each of which provides a degree of fun or a different activity".

According to Ricardo Rodrigues, besides the water fun zone, there will be other areas for resting, radical fun and a bar and terrace.

The water park will operate seven days a week.
