According to the weekly DGS report on vaccination that started on December 27, 2020, 73% of the Portuguese population have already completed their vaccination process and 83% have already been inoculated with the first dose.
By age group, the greatest growth in relation to the previous week was registered in young people between 12 and 17 years old, who are now vaccinated with at least one dose 461,578 (74%), a percentage that drops to 7% in relation to a complete vaccination.
Regarding the group between 18 and 24 years old, 643,324 (82%) have also started their vaccination and 393,499 (50%) have already completed it, the report indicates.
According to data from the DGS, almost all elderly people aged 65 and over – 99%, more than 2.3 million – have been fully vaccinated, as well as 96% of the people between 50 and 64 years old (2,079,384).
Regarding vaccination coverage, all regions of the country, with the exception of the Algarve, which has 67%, exceeded 70% of complete vaccination, and in the North where more people are vaccinated (75%).
The Centre and Madeira register 74% of complete vaccinations, followed by the Alentejo (73%) and Lisbon and Vale do Tejo and the Azores (72%).
Since the start of vaccination, the country has received a total of 17,488,090 vaccines against Covid-19, with 15,136,630 doses being distributed by vaccination centres in mainland Portugal and the autonomous regions.
Algarve is the clear winner then, in terms of having the most people with sense.

I read this article, Algarve lagging in vaccination. Of course they are lagging. It is not possible that people from Abroad get this vaccinations. There are people they have here a house and live here for a part of the year. When they stay in the Algarve, a long time it was not possible to fly back to there homeland. Portugal received as the first land in August 2020 from the Europe Commission 2.2. Miljard euro. Total Portugal received total 16,6 Miljard. But it is a big chame that a lot of people can´t get the vaccinations. Also in many country`s the Covid`s check are free, but not in Portugal. Very strange, so much money and then so a bad service.

Only in Portugal can they make it the most difficult process for foreigners to get vaccinated (Just like with every bureaucratic task).Tell me what genius in the government had the idea that a country with half a million foreign residents will only issue the certificates by using the national healthcare number that only portugese or long term foreign citizens acquire.Im really surprised that they havent slapped VAT on the vaccines for foreigners yet, because they sure love doing that in other cases...
