In a statement, Fenprof states that the strike of teachers and educators takes place on the same day that the Minister of Education, Tiago Brandão Rodrigues, will be in parliament to debate the proposed State Budget for 2022 (OE2022).
Other teachers' unions will also call strike for the same day, such as the Association of Licensed Teachers and the National Union of Education Professionals.
The two main union federations representing teachers justify the strike precisely with OE2022, which they say ignores the sector's problems, namely, issues that affect the teaching career and also non-teaching workers.
"Once again, and now in an even more burdensome way, the State Budget forgets about education, schools, students and teachers", writes the FNE in a statement, accusing the executive of pursuing "a policy of lack of investment On education".
Specifically, Fenprof and FNE defend that the budget for Education foreseen in the next budget should increase from the current 3.5% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) to 6%.
