During the service traditional hymns were sung, prayers were offered for all servicemen, service women and their families, who still carry the scars from their service in many wars. At 11am, a screen showed the commemoration from The Royal Albert Hall where the last post sounded, showers of poppy petals were released, a 2-minute silence was observed, which was broken only by the sound of Reveille.

“Remembrance Day is a special day that All Saints has always observed and it’s treasured by the entire Congregation, which now includes all nationalities and backgrounds.” said Janet Martin, Warden of All Saints Almancil. “This year, however, was especially poignant as we were unable to meet together last year due to the Pandemic, and this year all we all wore our poppies with pride as a symbol of remembrance and hope”.
