Lisbon: On Saturday temperatures are to peak at 32 degrees with intermittent sunny spells. On Sunday it is to be cloudy and temperatures are to drop down to highs of 28 degrees. From Monday sunny spells are to return and temperatures are to peak at 26 degrees before warming up as the week progresses.
The north: Saturday is to be very hot with highs of 33 degrees and hazy sunshine before it cools down on Sunday to 29 degrees. Monday and Tuesday are to be cooler still with average highs of 26 degrees before the thermometers rise again on Wednesday up to highs of 28 degrees with sunny spells.
The centre: It will be feeling very hot with temperatures to peak at 35 degrees on Saturday and hazy sunshine forecast. On Sunday it will be feeling a little cooler with highs of 32 degrees before settling to average highs of 29 degrees on Monday and then for the rest of the week, when intermittent sunshine is predicted.
The south: Temperatures are to average highs of 29 degrees in the south with hazy sunshine on Saturday and sunny spells forecast on Sunday. The hot weather is to continue into the next week with temperatures averaging daily highs of 29 degrees and dropping to nightly lows of 17 degrees each day.
Madeira: It is to be mainly overcast over the weekend with temperatures reaching daily highs of 23 degrees and nightly lows of 18 degrees. From Monday there will be an increase in sunny spells and temperatures are to rise slightly to highs of 24 degrees.
The Azores: There will be a high chance of rain over the weekend when temperatures will peak at 20 degrees and drop to lows of 16 degrees. Intermittent sunny spells and showers are forecast for Monday but the chance of rain is to decrease from Tuesday when temperatures will peak at highs of 19 degrees.
Sand dust from Africa already thick in the hot air. People who have allergies or respiratory issues should take extra care.
