According to Jornal Económico there are now almost 35,000 taxpayers on the blacklist.
Of the new debtors, 1,111 are companies and 299 are individuals, an official source from the Ministry of Labour, Solidarity and Social Security (MTSSS) told the newspaper. The total amount of debt to Social Security in 2022 amounts to more than 68 million euros in relation to companies and 5.42 million euros in relation to individuals.
There are a total of 34,816 contributors to Social Security, of which 22,776 are companies and 12,040 are individuals. Most companies have debts between 10,000 and 50,000 euros and there are 52 companies with debts between 1 million and 5 million euros. In turn, most individuals owe between 7,500 and 25,000 euros, out of a total of 10,955 taxpayers.
