“We are in favour of the freedom of initiative of entrepreneurs, if any company believes that it is more rewarding to work four days, that is up to the company, if it wants to work one day, that is a problem that is not ours”, said Miguel Albuquerque, reinforcing: “We are in favour of governments not meddling in the economy.”
“The government does not have to be an entrepreneur, the government has to have a legal framework and a framework of stability for companies to develop their activities, sell their products and services in line with the demands of customers”, he declared.
Miguel Albuquerque was commenting on the announcement made by the Minister of Labour, Ana Mendes Godinho, that the Government of the Republic, led by the PS, will carry out a study with social partners in which requirements and conditions for pilot projects on the four-day week will be defined.
