According to the data, Portuguese people working abroad sent 294.5 million euros to Portugal in April, which represents an increase of 5.1% compared to the 280.1 million euros sent in April last year.
Conversely, foreigners working in Portugal sent 43.9 million euros in April, which is equivalent to an increase of 9.9% compared to the 39.9 million euros sent to their countries of origin in April last year.
With regard to Portuguese-speaking African Countries (PALOP), the rise is even more expressive.
Portuguese working in Portuguese-speaking African countries sent 13.5 million euros to Portugal in April, which is equivalent to an increase of 32.5% compared to the 10.2 million sent in the same period of 2021.
