Buying a house cost of 2,381 euros per square meter
(euros/m2) at the end of June, taking into account the median value, according
to the idealista price index. In relation to the monthly and annual variation,
house prices rose by 0.9% and 7.1%, respectively.
House prices rise in most district capitals
Looking at the 18 district capitals and two Portuguese archipelagos, it is clear that the prices of homes for sale have risen in most
cities (13). And the biggest increases in house prices were registered in Ponta
Delgada (15.1%) and Setúbal (8.1%). Next is Funchal (7.1%), Aveiro (6.8%),
Leiria (6.5%), Braga (6.4%), Viana do Castelo (5.8%), Viseu (5 %), Faro (4.3%),
Santarém (3.1%), Bragança (1.3%), Évora (0.3%) and Porto (0.2%).
But there were also district capitals where houses to buy
became cheaper between the first and second quarters of the year. The most
significant fall was registered in Guarda (-10.2%), followed by Castelo Branco
(-4.2%), Lisbon (-2.5%), Portalegre (-1.9%), Coimbra (-1 .5%), Vila Real
(-1.2%) and Beja (-0.3%).
Lisbon continues to be the city where it is most expensive
to buy a house: 5,000 euros/m2. Porto (3,063 euros/m2) and Funchal (2,385
euros/m2) occupy the second and third places, respectively. Next are Faro
(2,313 euros/m2), Aveiro (2,272 euros/m2), Setúbal (1,965 euros/m2), Évora
(1,710 euros/m2), Coimbra (1,582 euros/m2), Ponta Delgada (1,461 euros/m2). ),
Braga (1,455 euros/m2), Viana do Castelo (1,387 euros/m2) and Viseu (1,278
euros/m2).
The district capital cities where it is cheaper to buy a
house are Portalegre (629 euros/m2), Guarda (728 euros/m2), Castelo Branco (746
euros/m2), Bragança (803 euros/m2), Beja (821 euros /m2), Santarém (879
euros/m2), Vila Real (1,122 euros/m2) and Leiria (1,226 euros/m2).
