A full entry of 32 bowlers from across the Algarve, Ireland and the UK competed in the competition. The standard of bowling on display seems to improve year on year.

Following an initial round-robin stage the bowlers were streamed into two groups - one group continuing in the Tournament which was won by Barry Maskell from Birmingham and the other in a subsidiary Shield won by Rob West from Rochdale.

The week ended with a very enjoyable drawn doubles competition won by Brian Coleman (Southport) and Janette O’Neill (Porches). The 2024 Tournament will run from 26th February to 1st March and entry details will be available on the Club website (www.alvorbowlsclub.com).
