In a statement sent to The Portugal News, the organisation confirms the participation of James, Pendulum, Within Temptation, Xutos & Pontapés, Ornatos Violeta, The Bloody Beetroots DJ 'set', Millencolin, Peaches, Guano Apes, Enter Shikari, Apocalyptica, Bizarra Locomotiva, The Last Internationale, Nowhere To Be Found and Mycomaniacs.

Organised by the company Surprise & Expectation, the festival now has Crédito Agrícola as its sponsor, with the Câmara de Caminha and the Parish Council of Vilar de Mouros, in the district of Viana do Castelo, as partners.

On the first day, August 23, Limp Bizkit, Xutos & Pontapés, Enter Shikari, The Last Internationale will perform. The local band Micomaníacos will have its debut on the main stage of the festival.

On the 24th, the British EDM band The Prodigy, Millencolin, The Bloody Beetroots (DJ 'set') and Nowhere to Be Found will take to the stage.

The lineup for the third day of Vilar de Mouros features performances by Pendulum, Within Temptation, Apocalyptica, and Bizarra Locomotiva.

The festival ends on the 26 of August with James, Ornatos Violeta, Guano Apes, and Peaches.

Apart from enjoying the historic stage, which has already hosted names like U2, Elton John, and many others, outside the festival grounds, there will be concerts and a DJ, with free access.

The first music festival in the country, which still enjoys the nickname of the Portuguese "Woodstock", took place in 1971 in Vilar de Mouros, having suffered an eight-year hiatus, between 2006 and 2014.

Like so many other music festivals in Portugal, Vilar de Mouros did not take place in 2020 and 2021 due to restrictions imposed to combat the covid-19 pandemic.

The first edition of 1971, launched by doctor António Barge, was attended by Elton John and Manfred Mann.

The pass for the four days of the festival costs 120 euros and for the 24th, 25th and 26th 90 euros. The daily ticket costs 45 euros.
