“We have a proposal for a location around 30 kilometres from the coast and, therefore, the most important impact, which is the visual aspect, is not verified, but that does not mean that there is not some kind of impact, namely on fishing”, said Eduardo Vítor Rodrigues.
The socialist mayor explained that, at the moment, fishing associations are being heard.
Eduardo Vítor Rodrigues stressed that the objective is to safeguard the situation of Vila Nova de Gaia.
"I will not say that I am completely calm, we will follow the process, but in fact, the impacts in our case are not brutal", he stressed.
The mayor of Vila Nova de Gaia believes that if there is something to adjust it will be adjusted, revealing that the possibility of extending the distance between the wind towers is on the table.
For Eduardo Vítor Rodrigues, this project is of national interest, which he endorses as mayor, but cannot harm people and communities, especially fishing communities.
