Between 9 am and 6 pm on Sunday, the district of Faro will be on orange alert for precipitation and wind, which could be “temporarily strong, with gusts of up to 100 kilometers per hour”.

Between 12 pm and 6 pm, this district of the Algarve will also be on orange alert regarding sea unrest, with waves expected to reach between six and eight meters in height.

Between 9 am and 12 pm and between 6 pm and 11 pm the warning for maritime unrest is yellow.

An orange warning was also issued for the districts of Évora, Santarém, Portalegre, Setúbal and Beja - the second most serious on a scale of three (red, orange and yellow) - due to precipitation.

IPMA also issued yellow precipitation warnings for the Lisbon district (between 12 pm and 9 pm) and for Viseu, Guarda, Leiria, Castelo Branco, Aveiro and Coimbra (between 3 pm and 9 pm).

Setúbal and Beja also have a yellow warning for wind, which could reach gusts of up to 90 kilometers per hour, between 12 pm and 9 pm.

According to IPMA, the orange warning is issued whenever there is a “moderate to high risk meteorological situation”. The yellow warning applies in “risk situations for certain activities depending on the weather situation”.
