The warning for these districts will be in force until 12:00pm on Saturday as waves of 5 to 6 meters are expected, with a maximum height of 10 meters in some cases.
These districts will then go on to a yellow warning between 12:00pm on Saturday and 6:00am on Sunday.
Due to the maritime unrest, the IPMA placed the districts of Faro and Beja under yellow warning until 6:00pm on Saturday, Setúbal until 00:00 on Sunday and Lisbon until 6:00am on Sunday.
The IPMA also issued a yellow warning for the districts of Viseu, Porto, Vila Real, Viana do Castelo, Aveiro and Braga due to the forecast of periods of rain, sometimes heavy and persistent.
The rain warning will be in force between 6pm today and 6pm on Sunday.
