October was not a good month for automobile production in Portugal, with 28,135 vehicles leaving the assembly lines, 22 percent less than in the same month last year, according to a report by NM.

One of the factors that most contributed to this was the suspension of activity at Autoeuropa.

In accumulated terms, in the 10 months of 2023, 264,174 vehicles left the factories in Portugal, that is, 3.3 percent more than in the same period of 2023

More than 97 percent of cars manufactured in Portugal are destined for the foreign market.

Europe continues to be the leading market for exports of vehicles manufactured in the national territory – with 88.7 percent – with Germany (19.9%), France (14.9%), Italy (13.0%) and Spain (9.7%) at the top of the ranking.
