Rúben Dias and Bernardo Silva, from Manchester City, Bruno Fernandes, from Manchester United, and Cristiano Ronaldo, from Al Nassr, are in the running for the 2023 Best Player in the World Award, which is the main category in the competition. In addition to this distinction, Bernardo and Bruno Fernandes are also competing for the award for best midfielder of the year against Benfica player Di María, who is also among the nominees.
