Al-Ittihad, the current defending champions, opened the scoring through Moroccan striker Abderrazak Hamdallah, in the 14th minute, but five minutes later Cristiano Ronaldo restored the tie with a penalty.

In the 38th minute, it was the turn of Brazilian Anderson Talisca, ex-Benfica, to put Al-Nassr in front of the scoreboard, but Hamdallah brought it back, in the 52nd minute. Cristiano Ronaldo then pushed his team into the lead again in the 68th minute, with a penalty following an attack in the area by the Brazilian Fabinho on the Portuguese international Otávio.

The result fell apart in the last quarter of an hour with two goals from Senegalese international Sadio Mané, ex-Liverpool, in the 76th and 82nd minutes, with Portuguese Otávio once again in the spotlight as he provided the assist for the fifth and final goal.

Cristiano Ronaldo now has 53 goals in 2023 with Al Nassr (43) and the Portuguese national team (10), having surpassed Harry Kane and the Frenchman Kylian Mbappé, who scored 52 times and now only competes again in 2024.

Cristiano Ronaldo has scored three more goals than Norwegian striker Erling Haaland, who has not played since December 6 due to injury.

The Portuguese player also has a chance to score more goals before the end of the year, as Al Nassr returns to compete on December 30th, visiting Al Taawon.
