In a statement, the security force revealed that it carried out an operation, with support from the Mobility and Transport Institute (IMT), on Avenida Cidade de São Filipe.
The objective was to "highlight the dangers associated with this type of practices, especially when carried out in inappropriate conditions and spaces, putting the lives and physical integrity of themselves, other drivers and public road users at risk".
In total, says the PSP, around 30 vehicles were inspected, "and sixteen were seized". Of these vehicles seized, 15 were for "change in characteristics" and one for "lack of mandatory civil liability insurance".
The PSP emphasises that "it will continue to be attentive, maintaining due vigilance and launching inspection operations with a view to promoting greater road safety for all public road users".
It's safer off course than catching real criminals.
