Taking into account the many passengers who travel to the Algarve region, Rede Expressos also decided to maintain a promotional campaign for fares at 3.95 euros and allow Expresso ticket holders to also travel for free on the VAMUS Algarve regional network, in order to improve their local mobility during the holiday period.
The new Rede Expressos destinations to and from the Algarve will be operated three times a week, in both directions, with Nantes, Zurich, and Brussels during the day and Rennes at night. Stops in the Algarve cover the cities of Lagos, Portimão, Albufeira, Faro, and Faro Aeroporto as well as Tavira.
Rede Expressos already provides direct services, starting at 49 euros, to and from the Algarve with the Spanish cities of Madrid, Barcelona, and Córdoba, as well as Lyon and Switzerland.
Passenger transport by bus to Spain and France has been increasing significantly, with Rede Expressos announcing increases of more than 20% between March and May, compared to the same period last year. Forecasts for the summer already point to an increase of more than 50% in passengers, as well as a 39% increase in international services.
