The districts of Évora, Beja, Portalegre, Setúbal, Castelo Branco, Guarda, and Bragança will be under yellow warning until 6 pm today due to persistently high maximum temperatures.
Due to the hot weather, the municipalities of São Brás de Alportel and Tavira, in the district of Faro, are today at maximum risk of rural fires.
More than 50 municipalities in the districts of Faro, Bragança, Guarda, Castelo Branco, Portalegre, Vila Real, Viseu, and Beja are also currently at very high risk of fire.
On Saturday, eight municipalities in the district of Faro, two in Portalegre and six in Bragança will be at maximum risk of rural fires.
According to IPMA calculations, the danger of fire will remain high in some districts at least until Tuesday.
The IPMA forecasts for today point to partly cloudy or clear skies, the possibility of scattered showers accompanied by thunderstorms in the North and Center interior during the afternoon, and light to moderate winds, being particularly strong in the highlands.
A drop in maximum temperatures is also expected, except in the northeast of Trás-os-Montes and in Beira Alta.
Minimum temperatures will range between 16 degrees Celsius (in Porto, Guarda, Coimbra, and Leiria) and 22 (in Faro), and maximum temperatures between 24 (in Aveiro) and 39 (in Évora).
