A "small rise in maximum temperatures is expected in the North and Central regions, especially on the coast".

The maximum temperatures will vary between 38 degrees in Castelo Branco and Évora and 26 degrees in Aveiro. The minimum temperatures will fluctuate between 23 degrees in Faro and Castelo Branco and 14 degrees in Leiria.

Due to the heat, the IPMA maintained the yellow warning for the districts of Bragança, Évora, Castelo Branco, Guarda, Beja, and Portalegre until 6:00 pm today.

It should be noted that the island of Madeira is also under a yellow warning for hot weather for the north and south coasts and the mountainous regions and Porto Santo until midnight on Thursday.
