"On October 1st, Galp will update the prices of electricity and natural gas with average increases of 9% and 16%, respectively, in the monthly bill for the contracted power and most representative brackets", said a source at Galp, in response to Lusa.
For a couple without children, with a contracted power of 3.45 kilovoltamperes (kVa), an average increase of 2.6 euros in the monthly electricity bill could be involved.
For a childless couple in the first tier of natural gas consumption, this could represent an average increase of 2.3 euros, with VAT and other taxes added to these amounts.
According to the company, there have been no increases in tariffs since October 2023 and the increases now announced reflect the increase in the cost of purchasing energy on international markets.
As detailed, these increases will include a 5% increase in natural gas network access tariffs (TAR), which will also come into effect in October.
Galp sent a note to its customers informing them of these increases.
Renewable, sustainable, available for now, and one of the most expensive in Europe! Can you still drive in Portugal? Soon it will be prohibitive!
