According to ISTAT, the number of centenarians in Italy has risen by 30 percent over the last decade, with over 22,000 Italians aged 100 to 104 in 2024, up from 17,000 in 2014.

Most are women, comprising 81 percent of this group.
Italy also has 21 super-centenarians, more than double number recorded in 2019.
