More than 13,000 people were considered to be homeless in 2023 in mainland Portugal, an increase of 2,300 cases compared to the previous year.

According to the results from the Homeless People Characterization Survey for the year 2023, from the National Strategy for the Integration of Homeless People (ENIPSSA), 13,128 people were identified.
In 2022, 10,773 people were reported to be homeless.
