In a statement, IP explained that, “as part of the pavement repair work on the former IP5 in the district of Viseu, it will be necessary to implement new traffic restrictions on this road in the Guarda/Aveiro direction”.
According to IP, the traffic closure, which should end on the 22nd of this month, will take place between the junction with the A25 motorway (kilometre 97.300) and the junction with National Road 229 (kilometre 93.400).
“The work and the respective detour will be duly signposted,” he assured.
Earlier this year, a traffic closure had been announced on the old IP5 - but in the Aveiro/Guarda direction, between the junction with National Road 229 (kilometre 93.400) and the junction with National Road 2 (kilometre 90.400) - which ended yesterday.
“We appreciate your understanding of any inconvenience that the restrictions may cause, as this is necessary to allow the smooth execution of this work and guarantee the safety of workers and road users,” IP stressed.
Since last year, several traffic restrictions have occurred due to paving works in this area of the former IP5.
