According to the Coimbra Sub-Regional Command, the accident with the aircraft occurred around 11:15 am, in the Cernache area, with the two occupants of the aircraft suffering “minor injuries”.
The information, which had initially been released by the online newspaper Notícias de Coimbra, was confirmed by the commander of the Coimbra Firefighters, Paulo Palrinha, who said he was unaware of the causes of the accident.
“The victims have minor injuries, but they were transported to the HUC [Coimbra University Hospitals],” he added.
A source from the Coimbra Volunteer Firefighters also said they were unaware of the causes of the accident, not confirming whether it was a fall or a forced landing.
“What we know is that the two victims left by their own means and were evaluated by emergency medical services,” he clarified.
At the scene of the aircraft accident there were 19 operatives, supported by six vehicles, from the Coimbra Firefighters, Coimbra Volunteer Firefighters and Condeixa Volunteer Firefighters, as well as INEM and GNR.
