Some of the best riders in the world will be making a return to the Autodrómo do Algarve this weekend to battle it out and despite the championship already being wrapped up by Fabio Quartararo (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP) there is still plenty of excitement expected on the track.
Still up for grabs are the Constructors, Teams, Rookie of the Year and Moto2 and Moto3 titles, with all of the action starting on Friday morning with the Moto3™ (09:00 – GMT+0), MotoGP™ (09:55) and Moto2™ (10:55) FP1s, before the FP2 sessions begin at 1.15pm.
Qualifying is set to continue throughout Saturday before the 17th race day of the year gets underway on Sunday with warm ups from 9am.
The Moto3 race is to begin at 11.20a, followed by the MotoGP at 1pm and then the Moto2 race beginning at 2.30pm.
High hopes
Portuguese rider Miguel Oliveira (KTM) is coming to the race hoping to improve his best classification ever in the World Championship.
After 16 races, Miguel Oliveira has 92 points, occupying the 10th position of the championship, but he can still, mathematically, reach the sixth place of Spaniard Marc Márquez (Honda), six times world champion, who has 142 and will not be taking part in the Algarve race due to injury.
Oliveira, from Almada, managed to be placed in ninth position in the championship in 2020 after finishing in 17th during his rookie year in 2019.
With two races to go, the KTM driver is 14 points behind ninth, currently occupied by Spaniard Maverick Viñales (Aprilia).
