In a statement, the Foreigners and Borders Service (SEF)
says that the man, a passenger on a flight originating in Guinea and in transit
to France, presented himself at the border control with two young women, aged
around 20, “both with fraudulent documentation and a fictitious story to
deceive the Portuguese border authorities”.
SEF also points out that, during the course of the criminal
procedural steps, various documentation and telecommunications equipment
related to the commission of the offense was seized.
According to this security service, the 43-year-old man was
detained “on grounds of strong evidence” of the crimes of aiding illegal
immigration and falsifying documents.
