This Charity event was organised by Shebang Events & PR Management with the aim of raising as much money as possible for their two charities of choice: “Algarve Families in Need” and “Sueste Lifeguard Association”. Through incredibly kind donations, they successfully managed to raise €1986.30.
“A huge thank you to everyone who sponsored, donated prizes entered the races and came to support the event. It was a fantastic day and it was made more special by the unbeatable effort from all competitors! You guys truly are amazing!” stated the organiser.
The winners of the Raft Race were “Buckley’s PT’s, followed by Pin Point Projects, Algarve and in third place was Hannah’s Place in Almancil.” The winners of the Paddle Board Race were “Nick Robinson in first place, followed by Shaun in second place, Chris in third place and best effort went to Lucy.” There were also other prizes including best decorated raft which went to “Pin Point Projects, Algarve and Stableford Pirates.” The Best flag and name went to the Magnolia Hotel, in Quinta do Lago with “In need of a Miracle” and the best mascot was Harry the Musical Lobster. “For best effort in the Race the prize went to Shebang PR which were the amazing people rafting on behalf of Shebang. The day would also not have been made possible without the wonderful judges, Chris Mayall, Megan Britton and Stevie Fagan.”
In addition, the organiser further wanted to thank “The Works, Europe in Almancil for all the brilliant design and marketing material and for the entertainment at the prize giving by Luke Britton, Soul Spectrum UK for comparing the event and Gonçalo Moutinho for the great drone footage, which can be seen on the Algarve Raft Race social media pages. Finally, a huge thank you Berni Quinn for the photographs and our Mascot for the day: Harry the musical Lobster!”
They look forward to seeing everyone who attended next year with bigger and better rafts, where hopefully even more people will participate.
