According to the EDP Foundation, the first electronic equipment, to support distance learning, will be delivered "next week, at School No. 1 of Beja”.

The remaining computers, aimed at students between 6 and 14 years old, will be "distributed to the identified schools according to the availability of suppliers", is referred in the same note.

The action takes place under the EDP Solidarity (EDP Solidária) Programme, and the schools were identified "together with the Ministry of Education and are part of the TEIP Programme - Priority Intervention Educational Territories, and are located in economically and socially disadvantaged areas, marked by poverty and social exclusion", stresses the statement.

The computers will be available for the use of students of the selected schools "during their school career".

Created in 2004, the EDP Solidária Programme aims to support projects that improve the quality of life of socially disadvantaged people and promote the integration of communities at risk of social exclusion.
