In a statement, the institute states that, from now on, all results of rapid antigen tests carried out by citizens will also be communicated to health authorities by filling in an electronic form available at https: //covid19.min- saude.pt/.
“The notification of these results is important to monitor the national testing activity. Asymptomatic individuals with a positive or inconclusive result should reporting through telephone contact to the SNS24”, says the note.
Until now, reporting by citizens of positive or inconclusive results was only possible through the Contact Centre of the National Health Service - SNS24 (808 24 24 24).
Developed by the Shared Services of the Ministry of Health (SPMS), with the Directorate-General for Health (DGS), INFARMED - National Authority for Medicines and Health Products and the National Institute of Health Doutor Ricardo Jorge (INSA), the new platform it will allow, for example, “to understand if a user with a positive result called the SNS24 in the 12 hours after the report”.
"In the absence of a report, an SMS will be sent requesting that contact", adds the note from the testing task force.
Any positive or inconclusive result in an asymptomatic person, who has not had contact with a confirmed case in the last 14 days, should lead to a confirmation test, by RT-PCR, “as long as the individual has not had infection with SARS-CoV-2 confirmed in the laboratory in the previous 90 days”.
“The result of the confirmatory test is notified at SINAVElab by the entity responsible for carrying it out”, reads the statement.
