The Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA) had already warned of a worsening of the weather on the continent, after a break over the weekend, and had placed the country under a 'yellow' warning for heavy rain from Monday.
Today, the IPMA points out that the districts of Viana do Castelo and Braga will already be under 'yellow' warning from 18:00 today due to strong wind.
On Monday, with the exception of Faro and Beja, the entire country will be under a 'yellow' warning due to heavy precipitation, which in the districts of Viana do Castelo, Braga, Porto, Aveiro and Coimbra is expected from 06:00.
However, in the districts of Viana do Castelo, Braga and Porto, the IPMA warning for heavy precipitation rises to the 'orange' level (the second most serious) from 21:00 on Monday, and the following day also the districts Vila Real, Viseu and Coimbra are in 'orange' on the institute's map.
Also 'yellow' will be the entire coast of the continent from Monday morning due to forecasts of strong sea turmoil.
Today, the Azores and Madeira archipelagos are under 'yellow' warning for maritime unrest.
For today, the IPMA predicts for the continent generally very cloudy skies and increasing winds along the west coast.
As for temperatures, the lowest minimum will be 3ºC in Bragança, while the highest maximums are expected for Aveiro and Braga, with 18ºC.
Lisbon will have a maximum of 17ºC and a minimum of 10ºC.
