According to the same source, most occurrences were tree
falls (13) and small floods (17).
"Nothing serious. The situation does not compare to
last week," he added.
The occurrences all took place in the coastal districts,
with Coimbra being the most affected district, with 10 occurrences.
Until 09:00 today, eight districts in mainland Portugal were
under an orange warning, the second most serious on a scale of four, due to
heavy and persistent rain, according to the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and
the Atmosphere (IPMA).
These eight districts, Aveiro, Castelo Branco, Coimbra,
Leiria, Lisbon, Santarém, Setúbal, and Viseu, have an orange warning until
09:00, then changing to yellow until 16:00.
According to the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the
Atmosphere (IPMA), the districts of Beja, Braga, Bragança, Évora, Faro, Guarda,
Portalegre, Porto, and Vila Real are also under a yellow warning because of rain
until 15:00 of today.
