According to SIC Notícias, Europe recorded the worst epidemic season in terms of bird flu, while supply has reduced significantly and it is proving difficult to meet demand.

With inflation, the price of eggs has increased and production costs have accentuated the crisis in the sector, however one of the largest producers of eggs in the country has guaranteed that there will be no further price increases, at least until the end of the year.
