CP also adds that the "Arbitration Court of the Economic and Social Council did not decree minimum services for this period of strikes".

The company also notes that "customers who already have tickets purchased to travel on Alfa Pendular, Intercidades, Internacional, Interregional and Regional services trains" may request a "refund, for the total amount of the ticket purchased, or its free revalidation to another train of the same category and in the same class".

Fectrans announced, on January 25, that workers from CP and Infraestruturas de Portugal (IP) will be on strike on February 9 due to the lack of response to salary enhancement proposals.

At issue is the lack of response from the two companies to the salary enhancement proposals.

For the unions, the submitted proposals "fall far short" of the values needed to restore workers' purchasing power.
