The entire maritime community is recommended to adopt a state of permanent vigilance at sea and in coastal areas and to "redouble their care both in preparing a trip to sea, when they are at sea or in coastal areas", the National Maritime Authority (AMN) said in a statement.
The note also recalled that for the general population, there is a general duty to collect at home, stressing that "people should stay at home, safe and not expose themselves unnecessarily to risk".
"Maritime unrest will be characterised by swell from the north-west quadrant, with a significant height of up to six metres and a maximum height of ten metres, with an average period of between ten and 12 seconds," the AMN said.
"The wind may register an average intensity of more than 70 km/hour and gusts of more than 100 km/hour from the north-west quadrant", he added.
