According to the report, published every Tuesday, 5,389,935 people (52 percent) completed the vaccination schedule and 6,865,047 (67 percent) took at least one dose.

In Portugal, the vaccination campaign against Covid-19 began on 27 December, 2020. At the moment the single-dose (Janssen) and double-dose (Pfizer/BioNTech, Moderna and AstraZeneca) are being administered.

The most recent data go back to Sunday and covers the vaccination of people aged 16 and over. Young people aged 16 to 17, particularly those with Down syndrome, are eligible for vaccination (with the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine) under a DGS policy on priority groups that was updated in March 2021.

According to the report, the regions of Alentejo and Centro continue to have the most advanced vaccination progess, having respectively 58 percent and 56 percent of the population with the complete vaccination.

All other regions have between 50 percent and 53 percent of the population with completed vaccinations.

Between 19 and 25 July, the regions of Lisbon and Vale do Tejo and the North did the most vaccinations, with 242,414 and 238,345 people respectively.

Portugal received 12,886,770 doses and distributed 12,043,017.

Older people, who started to be vaccinated earlier, are the ones who, in percentage terms, have the most complete vaccination, between 94 percent (65-79 years old) and 96 percent (from 80 years old).

In the 50-64 age groups: 82 percent of people have completed vaccination.

In the 25-49 age groups: 72 percent took at least one dose and 40 percent are fully immunized. Among young people aged 18-24, 15 percent received at least one dose and 9 percent have the full vaccination schedule.

The report also counts, among young people from 16 to 17 years old covered by the exception foreseen in the March norm of the DGS, 3,872 who took one dose of the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine and 2,647 the two required doses.
